Food for human consumption should meet the following requirements: Freedom from pathogens and toxins:

- FAI administers food safety regulations (compulsory specifications) for

- Canned fish, marine molluscs and crustaceans
- Frozen fish and marine molluscs
- Frozen rock lobster
- Frozen shrimps, langoustines and crabs
- Smoked Snoek
